No. Although this has been the case in the past, Mr. Buchanan has made a commitment to be polite at HAVAMEGA, and will not remark about the weight of any team member, regardless of what he might be thinking
False! All classes will race 5 full days, and participate fully in this event. All non-NAC classes will have trophies equivilent to the NAC classes, and can consider their participation as the same in every way as the NAC classes, though they will have to understand that any title they might receive at HAVAMEGA, will be 'Unofficial' with respect to the Hobie Class Association champion status.
All North American Championship classes, including the Waves, H17's, H18's, H20's, Tigers and Trapseat H16's will place their boats at the North Beach within the Crazy Horse RV and Campground Resort. All other classes will be placing their boats on the beachhead immediately southwest of the Island Inn, as well as the Nautical Inn Beachheads.
Any of the host hotels (Nautical Inn and Island Inn) are great and within a short distance of Crazy Horse RV and Campground. Crazy Horse RV and Campground has plenty of spaces for camping and RV's and is the closest for NAC classes, as well as the location of the Wednesday Beach Party. Also, boats for all NAC classes will be weighed in at the Crazy Horse location. Additionally, anyone staying at the hotels will have an additional 8 dollar per vehicle per day expense for day use of the beach area. Expenses can be reduced by pooling rides, since the passes are given for vehicles, not people and therefore savings can be achieved in this way.
The Event Program will have maps and information about local purveyors of food and entertainment for those attending HAVAMEGA. Also, we will have a number of special interest locations for diversions that will enhance the fun factor during our off racing time.
It was moved in 1968 from London, England to Lake Havasu City by Robert McCulloch, a strong promoter of Hobiecat racing on Lake Havasu. This may or may not have been part of the so-called 'British Invasion'!
You will just have to find out for yourself! We should probably bring a gong.
All registration functions except boat weigh-in, but including weigh in of individual racers will be at the Island Inn conference room and conducted by Rick Buchanan and his registration team. This particular function on Sunday, October 8th is very important in many ways, but of critical importance for accurate and concise scoring of all participating teams. This is why our welcome party will not be until Monday night, due to the fact that the volume of work for the registration and scoring team could go late, depending on the quantity of teams that come to HAVAMEGA
Umm, probably not. It's a modern structure of reinforced concrete with the surface stones from the original bridge as the 'skin' that makes the bridge appear as the original.
